Chika P. Ojiako
Member/Assistant Lecturer
Ojiako Chika is a motivated and pliable Computer Scientist with focus on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Swarm Intelligence, Optimization, Data Science and Information Communication and Telecommunication for Development (ICT4D). Ojiako Chika is a certified IBM Artificial Intelligence expert and is enthusiastic about emerging technologies. Ojiako Chika obtained her undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in 1997; Masters in Computer Science from University of Lagos, Akoka in 2006 and is currently a doctorate student and faculty at University of Lagos, Nigeria, researching on bioinspired algorithms for unconstrained optimization problems.
Ojiako Chika’s current research interests include Artificial Intelligence, swarm intelligence, optimization, metaheuristics, 3D printing and climatic actions. In addition to her technical contributions, she is an advocate for diversity in STEM and AI. She is particularly interested in encouraging and bringing more girls and women into the Information Communication and Telecommunication (ICT) ecosystem with bias in training and mentoring girls and women on problem solving skills and coding. She is a member of the Unilag Fabrication Laboratory (Unilag FabLab) a hub for ideation, innovation and fabrication. She is a member of some international and local professional and academic groups and has reported some of her research works in conferences and journals.
